Psychobilly Freak Out

my mood

I've finished going through and editting pictures from Friday night's show.

First up was Lords of the Highway. They are a rockabilly band from Cleveland. (What, you don't know what rockabilly is? Think hillbilly rock with a twist. Fun stuff.)

What I really like about them is the fact that there's a chick playing an upright bass. During shows she'll "ride" it.

The second band was Psycho Charger. They are a psychobilly group -- Dracula meets Elvis -- from New York City.

Psycho Charger

Yes, in the picture they are wearing nothing but plastic wrap. No one knew they were going to do that until they took the stage. Their set was short due to the idiot running sound and other technical difficulties.

Since Cult of the Psychic Fetus had to pull out at the last minute due to a family emergency, a punk band called Pitbull played in their place. That was amusing. They were so...obnoxious. So of course Keith really enjoyed them. Already he has them booked for another show.

And of course, no club would be complete without security:

Big Don, the gentle bouncer

He stood up by me for most of the night. Apparently that was enough for the straight men to leave me alone but didn't deter the lesbians.

Next time I'm hiding the cleavage.
